Road rage

Whitsunday Times - - PROSERPINE MAGISTRATE’S COURT -

Driving without due care and attention has resulted in a local man being fined $900.

Shaun Paul Middleton was driving towards the traffic lights on the corner of Shute Harbour and Paluma Rd early on November 13 when he slid into another car.

“I was in the right-hand lane and the lights turned green and I was in the turning lane,” said Middleton, who defended himself. “But the other car went straight ahead and pulled in front of me and I slid into him.”Magistrate Haydn Stjernqvist noted “a degree of animosity” existed between the two parties, who were known to each other, and called it an “outrageous dis-

play of road rage”.
