Whitsunday Times - - PROSERPINE MAGISTRATE’S COURT -

A PROSERPINE mother of three has been convicted and fined for stealing and wilful damage.

Leesa Maree Kennedy took a meat tray from Fausts IGA Supermarket on October 4 and then, on October 10, was in the Prince of Whales Hotel at about 12.30am when she became aggressive and a fight broke out.

Police drove her home but she went back to the pub and kicked the car of a hotel worker.

Duty lawyer Antoinette Morton said the 32-year-old woman had three children aged 14, 12 and 10.

“She does not recollect the incident in the car park but she accepts she was intoxicated on the night in question.”

For the charge of wilful damage to the car, Kennedy was fined $600 and ordered to pay $1369.94 restitution.

For stealing the meat tray she was fined $200 and ordered to pay $30 restitution. She was also fined $200 for contravening a police direction when she failed to take her ID to the police station on October 14.
