DRIVING to pick up his friends from the pub while unlicensed has resulted in a Proserpine man being fined $200 and disqualified for three months.

Tyrone Phillip Fischer, 49, was also fined $440 for possession of dangerous drugs after he was found with speed.

Police prosecutor Elizabeth Smith said police spotted Fischer doing a u-turn in Blair St, Proserpine, on November 9, and pulled him over.

“The defendant appeared extremely nervous and uneasy when he got out the car, so police conducted a pat down search and found 0.2 grams of a white substance and three needles in his underwear,” she said.

Fischer admitted he had no licence and said he was driving to pick up friends from the pub.
