Whitsunday Times - - PROSERPINE MAGISTRATE’S COURT -

A MAN who contravened a domestic violence order on two occasions, in July and October, has been placed on probation for 12 months.

The 35-year-old man, who cannot be named, works in the mines.

Duty lawyer Antoinette Morton said the man accepted he had drug issues but she promised they were now behind him and he was committed to remaining sober and drug free.

“His key priority is to support his young daughter,” she said.

Magistrate Haydn Stjernqvist took into account the fact the man had already been in custody for one month when sentencing him.
