Com­modore’s Ball a blast for sailors

WHIT­SUN­DAY sailors gath­ered on Satur­day night, cel­e­brat­ing an­other suc­cess­ful year at the Whit­sun­day Sail­ing Club.

Rear off­shore com­modore Kevin Fog­a­rty said the event had been a jovial ex­pe­ri­ence.

“We were think­ing we might get 60 or 70 peo­ple, but we ended up with 90,” he said. “It was great.” Mr Fog­a­rty said it had been a busy time on the wa­ter this year as well.

“The beach guys had a good year,” he said.

“They de­vel­oped a new laser di­vi­sion, which has be­come very pop­u­lar.”

The rear off­shore com­modore said the club was al­ways will­ing to take on new mem­bers, whether they wanted to be part of a crew or have their own boat. Con­tact the club for more in­for­ma­tion.
