Winning golfers rewarded
Members turn out for Christmas party and medal presentation
The Whitsunday Golf Club members turned out in force for the Christmas party and presentation night at the Reef Gateway on Saturday.
Club president Ross Richards presented the inaugural Kerry Hall Memorial Trophy, issuing medals to the winning blue team with the help of Frani Aleman, who travelled from Townsville.
Bronnie Nicol also presented the Mark Nicol two-ball ambrose trophy to Pauline Redpath and Kevin Mills.
Other award winners on the night were Ross Richards (Agrade medal of medals and club champion), Kevin Mills (B-grade medal of medals), Penny Wardroper (ladies’ medal of medals and ladies’ club championship nett), Tiina Randmae and Wilf Herweg (four ball best ball championship), Donny Hope (A-grade stableford championship), Gary Goddard (B-grade stableford championship), Pauline Redpath (ladies’ stableford championship), Rod Wecker (A-grade club championship nett) and Mark McDougall (Bgrade club championship nett).
Best dressed prizes were also issued on the night, with Bronnie Nicol claiming the ladies’ prize.
Ernie “Hollywood” Holstein was named the pick of the men.
Whitsunday Golf Club members danced into the night as the golfers signalled the end of the competitive year.
Competition will resume in the new year at a date to be notified.
