Win­ning golfers re­warded

Mem­bers turn out for Christ­mas party and medal pre­sen­ta­tion

The Whit­sun­day Golf Club mem­bers turned out in force for the Christ­mas party and pre­sen­ta­tion night at the Reef Gate­way on Satur­day.

Club pres­i­dent Ross Richards pre­sented the in­au­gu­ral Kerry Hall Me­mo­rial Tro­phy, is­su­ing medals to the win­ning blue team with the help of Frani Ale­man, who trav­elled from Townsville.

Bron­nie Ni­col also pre­sented the Mark Ni­col two-ball am­brose tro­phy to Pauline Redpath and Kevin Mills.

Other award win­ners on the night were Ross Richards (Agrade medal of medals and club cham­pion), Kevin Mills (B-grade medal of medals), Penny Wardroper (ladies’ medal of medals and ladies’ club cham­pi­onship nett), Ti­ina Rand­mae and Wilf Her­weg (four ball best ball cham­pi­onship), Donny Hope (A-grade sta­ble­ford cham­pi­onship), Gary God­dard (B-grade sta­ble­ford cham­pi­onship), Pauline Redpath (ladies’ sta­ble­ford cham­pi­onship), Rod Wecker (A-grade club cham­pi­onship nett) and Mark McDougall (Bgrade club cham­pi­onship nett).

Best dressed prizes were also is­sued on the night, with Bron­nie Ni­col claim­ing the ladies’ prize.

Ernie “Hol­ly­wood” Hol­stein was named the pick of the men.

Whit­sun­day Golf Club mem­bers danced into the night as the golfers sig­nalled the end of the com­pet­i­tive year.

Com­pe­ti­tion will re­sume in the new year at a date to be no­ti­fied.
