Pupils have a ‘ball’

Whitsunday Times - - SPORT -

TENNIS: Tuesday afternoon social tennis was an absolute ball.

The original six who are credited with starting Tuesday social were there and they made the afternoon their own. Rex Robinson and John West kept the ladies on their toes.

Tuesday night was a quiet affair while Thursday night welcomed newcomer Shaun Holt to the fold.

On Friday afternoon, Darcy Larkin showed great athleticism, while brothers Patrick and Matthew Cowan were put to the test with an array of forehands and backhands.

Coaching is now back in full swing for term one and it is fantastic to see the youngsters back on court.

The coaching pupils of the week are sister and brother Emma and Sam Dinnie, who put in a fantastic half hour.

Saturday afternoon had a huge turnout. Well done to all in attendance for some fabulous tennis, followed by the legendary cuppa and chat.

Don’t forget Fit, Fun Tennis – the gym workout on a tennis court. No tennis experience is necessary and it’s on tonight 6–6.45pm and tomorrow 9–9.45am.

A reminder that membership fees are now due.

For all things tennis, phone 0418 866 808.

TENNIS COACHING: Brothers Max and Cian Nugent enjoy some tennis coaching on Monday afternoon.
