Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY VIEWS -

I AM sure we all like the idea of having an international airport but no-one can make a decision on whether we actually want an international airport unless we know what the facility and operating costs are and what rates increase and debt interest it will produce.

Without this information how can any decision be made?

The council must have this information but they are not releasing it – why?

The Whitsunday people may not want it if it produces a huge rates increase.

Reading the minutes from the last Council meeting (December 9, 2015) there is still no disclosure from the mayor or the “Airport CEO” about who is buying into our airport or for how much, or who is on the board or what the contract actually is.

This is not being open, accountable or transparent. Ian Bishop Hydeaway Bay
