New idea?

Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY VIEWS -

IT WAS interesting to read the article on page 2 of last week’s

Whitsunday Times: "Blank canvas for the heart of our town".

I sent an email with an attached photograph to Mayor Whitney on November 10, 2015, with a subsequent follow-up telephone call to the council office and wasn't even afforded the courtesy of a response.

The email said: “Good Morning Mayor Whitney, I have been a resident of Airlie Beach for almost 20 years and have had the pleasure of officiating over 2500 weddings in that time here in our beautiful Whitsundays.

“I have come up with a great idea to assist in the promotion of tourism in our area.

“The attached photograph, which I took this morning and had a fiddle with photoshop conveys the idea of a mural of Whitehaven Beach on the currently stark wall above the roundabout located at the top of the Airlie Beach main street.

“I would like to suggest that a proposal to install a mural at this location be considered by council”. Ivan Conway Cannonvale
