Not our bill

Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY VIEWS -

I FIND it preposterous that a group of Airlie Beach nightclub owners would promote a free bus service paid for by taxpayer funds to drive home their patrons.

These nightclub owners have profited from the patronage of the public and if they therefore feel so strongly about the welfare of their patrons it is then they, not the taxpayer who should pay for this free bus service.

It is cynical and absurd for business people to expect we taxpayers to clean up a mess they have created and profited from.

I will be petitioning the relevant government authorities on this matter. Denis Beckmann Cannonvale
