Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY VIEWS -

AT THE Proserpine Chamber of Commerce Meet the Candidates forum on Tuesday evening, I was appalled at the disgusting verbal accusations directed at a council candidate by Whitsunday Ratepayers’ Association president David Gillman and secretary Tony Moscato, accusing him of allegedly dumping raw sewage at the council tip.

The accusation was dismissed by Rogin Taylor as totally absurd and utterly ridiculous .

After the meeting, when I challenged Mr Moscato about his gutter politics remarks, an altercation followed and an all-out brawl was averted by my wife Sue, intervening.

It is unfortunate that unwarranted and disrespectful comments from a few in the audience, spoilt and disrupted an otherwise informative and well run meeting. Trevor Biggs Hamilton Plains
