Disruption

Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY VIEWS -

I ATTENDED the Meet the Candidates forum for our coming election, which was conducted by our Proserpine Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday and I must congratulate them on a well organised evening.

However, it was marred by one woman who continually caused ructions with loud, rude comments.

Two men from the Whitsunday Ratepayers’ Association then attempted to discredit one candidate by making slanderous comments about the candidate, comments which were obvious to everyone as blatant lies.

I asked myself – why do people have to stoop to such a low level in an attempt to gain votes for their pals.

Well their pals instantly lost my votes, as I always profess “whether you like it or not, you will be judged by the people you associate with”.

Just when we thought the Whitsunday Ratepayers’ Association couldn’t have stooped any lower with their spiteful statements, they did.

We witnessed the Airlie Beach group come out with some atrocious accusations at the forum.

I suggest the next time they want to invade Proserpine with their trashy comments, don’t bother.

We don’t want you here. Desni Wilkins Proserpine
