Students sail the high seas
STUDENTS from Proserpine State High School travelled to Townsville on Sunday to compete in the North Queensland Schools Sailing Teams racing regatta hosted by the Townsville Sailing Club. The students competed against other teams from Townsville.
Conditions were good with a steady north-east wind blowing for most of the day.
It was a round robin event and the Proserpine team won five of their eight races, which gave them a second place ov- erall for the day.
The winner goes on to compete against teams from further north, with the ultimate winner to represent the region in the national competition in Brisbane later this year.
STUDENT SAILORS: Cameron Brown, Ben Archer, Hamish Swain, Brendan Hoffman and Neg Sleight sailed for their school.
