Aber­nethy, Wecker win am­brose event

WHIT­SUN­DAY GOLF: A field of 26 Whit­sun­day Golfers took part in a two-ball am­brose last Sun­day.

Some ex­cel­lent play made for low scores, with very clear win­ners for first and se­cond places along with a group near the net 66 mark.

Win­ners of the am­brose were Leanne Aber­nethy and Rod Wecker on net 58, beat­ing out run­ners-up An­nie and Dean Kercher on net 63.

In third place were Ritchie Atkins and Mark McDougall on net 65.25.

The long­est drive for Men’s A-grade was awarded to Rod Wecker and in Men’s B-grade to Ritchie Atkins.

For the ladies with a 1-39 hand­i­cap, Penny Wardroper took out the long­est drive, fol­lowed by Robyn Mills on a 40+ hand­i­cap. Near­est the pins were awarded to Leanne Aber­nethy and Rod Wecker on the se­cond hole.

They were also awarded near­est he pin for their se­cond shot on the ninth hole.

Brad Ham­mond and Ross Richards scored near­est the pin on the 13th hole, and Ritchie Atkins and Mark McDougall were near­est the pin on the 16th hole.

Next Sun­day will be the Air­lie Panel and Paint March Monthly Medal, along­side the WFX En­cour­age­ment Award.
