Ladies’ Day kicks off
LAWN BOWLS: The Airlie Beach Bowls Club has continued to be busy during the past week with various functions being held at the club.
Last Tuesday saw the start of official Ladies’ Day on Tuesdays.
There are still many ladies away on holidays but the winners for the day were Del Lacey and Margo Stanley defeating Di Dobbins and Jill Spencer 17–7.
Connie Reimers, Noela Whitehead and Jenny Ryder defeated Connie Reimers, Margaret Heeney and Lane Telford 15–9.
Wednesday afternoon the men had a fun time with 10 players on the green.
Winners for the day were John Sladek, Dan McLeod defeating Peter Lawton and Peter Hinschen 25–14.
Eric Bottle, Dom Sposato and Steve Tattam defeated Paul Osborne, Keith Dunn and Nik Fernbach 31–16.
Wednesday evening Business House Bowls was once again well attended with some new teams coming along.
The point score table at present is:
Cold Rock 12, Bendigo Community Bank 10, Whitsunday Transit 8, Big 4 Adventure Park and Woolies Allsorts both on 7, Porters Pounders 6, Marine Provisioning 5, Intuitive Massage and Methika Thai Massage 3.
It is all happening again this Wednesday.

Friday evening the club hosted the Whitsunday Sportspark executive to showcase their plans for the precinct redevelopment.
