Let the voters decide
IN REPLY to the letters to the editor in the Times and Guardian last week from Tony Moscato, we saw a desperate attempt to discredit me and other candidates.
I have to say, your statement and accusations have no foundation or credibility at all.
On the other hand it was your gutter politics that stood out at the Proserpine Chamber of Commerce Q&A forum and that angered so many people.
I noted you had to make a run for your car after the meeting following the heated altercation in the foyer of the entertainment centre.
Mr Moscato, it’s easy to make up any number of false or worthless accusations with your Whitsunday Ratepayers’ Association president David Gillman but when you have to show even the remotest shred of proof or evi- dence about what you have been accusing many of the candidates of, it becomes apparent all you have is what you and your group “dreamed up” with absolutely nothing to back up or support anything you said.
I am sure residents are smart enough to see you are attempting to manipulate candidates and disrupt this council election with a malicious smear campaign to protect your chosen few.
It would be so much better for all concerned if you allow the elections to proceed without your unwanted outside interference, and just let the voters decide on an independent candidate. Rogin Taylor Conway
