Is­land hol­i­day of a life­time

ONE lucky win­ner from Mel­bourne has won a $20,000 trip of a life­time to the Whit­sun­days, as part of the Whit­sun­day’s True Colours cam­paign part­ner­ship be­tween Whit­sun­day Mar­ket­ing and De­vel­op­ment and Aus­tralian Geo­graphic.

Ms Lyn Mon­te­bello, a school teacher’s aide, en­tered the on­line and in-store com­pe­ti­tion at the end of last year, along with 35,000 other hope­ful en­trants.

The prize in­cludes re­turn air­fares for four peo­ple, to and from Mel­bourne, air­port to ho­tel trans­fers and eight nights ac­com­mo­da­tion at four Whit­sun­days re­sorts in­clud­ing Ma­rina Shores, Co­ral Sea Re­sort, Day­dream Is­land Re­sort and Reef View Ho­tel on Hamil­ton Is­land.

The prize also in­cludes a Sail­ing Ad­ven­ture tour, Air Whit­sun­days Panorama Tour, Ocean Raft­ing South­ern Lights tour, Guided Fish Feed at Day­dream Is­land, break­fast with koalas ex­pe­ri­ence on Hamil­ton Is­land, Great Bar­rier Reef Ad­ven­ture trip with Cruise Whit­sun­days, Salty Sea Dog Kayak­ing tour and a Sun­set Seg­way Tour, all for four peo­ple.

Ms Mon­te­bello was thrilled with her prize and amazed to be an­nounced as the win­ner.

“I’m so ex­cited about tak­ing my fam­ily to the Whit­sun­days later this year, and hav­ing the hol­i­day of a life­time!”

The True Colours of the Whit­sun­days cam­paign was pro­moted in all 64 Aus­tralian Geo­graphic retail stores around Aus­tralia in the lead up to Christ­mas, and to en­ter the com­pe­ti­tions con­sumers voted for their favourite Whit­sun­days im­age from four pho­to­graphs taken in the re­gion in Septem­ber.

The win­ning pho­to­graph was the cover im­age for the Jan­uary/Fe­bru­ary edi­tion of Aus­tralian Geo­graphic Out­door mag­a­zine, as part of a fea­ture story about kayak­ing the Ngaro Sea Trail.
