Island holiday of a lifetime
ONE lucky winner from Melbourne has won a $20,000 trip of a lifetime to the Whitsundays, as part of the Whitsunday’s True Colours campaign partnership between Whitsunday Marketing and Development and Australian Geographic.
Ms Lyn Montebello, a school teacher’s aide, entered the online and in-store competition at the end of last year, along with 35,000 other hopeful entrants.
The prize includes return airfares for four people, to and from Melbourne, airport to hotel transfers and eight nights accommodation at four Whitsundays resorts including Marina Shores, Coral Sea Resort, Daydream Island Resort and Reef View Hotel on Hamilton Island.
The prize also includes a Sailing Adventure tour, Air Whitsundays Panorama Tour, Ocean Rafting Southern Lights tour, Guided Fish Feed at Daydream Island, breakfast with koalas experience on Hamilton Island, Great Barrier Reef Adventure trip with Cruise Whitsundays, Salty Sea Dog Kayaking tour and a Sunset Segway Tour, all for four people.
Ms Montebello was thrilled with her prize and amazed to be announced as the winner.
“I’m so excited about taking my family to the Whitsundays later this year, and having the holiday of a lifetime!”
The True Colours of the Whitsundays campaign was promoted in all 64 Australian Geographic retail stores around Australia in the lead up to Christmas, and to enter the competitions consumers voted for their favourite Whitsundays image from four photographs taken in the region in September.
The winning photograph was the cover image for the January/February edition of Australian Geographic Outdoor magazine, as part of a feature story about kayaking the Ngaro Sea Trail.
