Rain does not deter sailors

Whitsunday Times - - ON THE WATER -

TORRENTIAL rain wasn’t enough to stop the Whitsunday Sailing Club off-beach sailors on Sunday, as they took part in the first of a three-week series.

In fact, WSC off-beach sailors have a lot to look forward to, following the appointment of international race officer Ross Chisholm as the new sailing officer at the club.

The upcoming Easter Regatta, to be held during the Easter weekend from March 25–27, is another event to which club members can look forward.

Sailors come from throughout Queensland in dinghies and catamarans and the event will incorporate the North Queensland Sabot Series and North Queensland Laser Championships.

A special green fleet event is also being organised in conjunction with the Port Denison Sailing Club in Bowen.

Young sailors will compete in a round-robin event in the WSC Club-owned Opti Tacker sailboats.
