TEN­NIS: Fit fun ten­nis, the up­beat gym work­out on a ten­nis court, was at its best with plenty of tal­ent shin­ing.

On Thurs­day evening Ethan Leet, Nathan Ryan and Rhi­anna Loten stole the show. On Fri­day morn­ing Les­ley Nolan and Liz Knight set a siz­zling pace.

Tues­day af­ter­noon so­cial ten­nis had two courts in ac­tion.

Kay Hoar and Tr­ish Rouse played a flow­ing game of dou­bles against John West and Merle Foot.

On the ad­ja­cent court Rex Robin­son and Mau­rice Kite is­sued the chal­lenge to Betty Wil­son and Rae Miller. The ladies cer­tainly gave the men a run for their money!

Tues­day early evening ten­nis ran a minia­ture ‘ Mi­ami Tour­na­ment’. Win­ners of the evening were Dar­ren Rusk and Emma Din­nie.

The sports­man­ship award went to Jack Rai­teri.

Tues­day night so­cial ten­nis saw Norm Hold and Anna Now­icki play a deft game of dou­bles against Harry Dilges and Tad Now­icki. Wed­nes­day war­riors were put to the test and win­ners on the evening were Jenny South­ern and Isaac Porter for a fab­u­lous dis­play of dou­bles.

Thurs­day af­ter­noon saw a fam­ily from Lon­don out on the court catch­ing up for a game of ten­nis and a chat with friends from Townsville, prov­ing that ten­nis re­ally is a so­cial game.

An­drew Gomez and Dar­ren Rusk made the game of sin­gles look easy with a blitz­ing set of ten­nis.

The Satur­day morn­ing early­birds en­joyed the early morn­ing cool to play a dash­ing game of dou­bles.

Out en­joy­ing their ten­nis and friend­ship were Kate Ap­ple­gate, Celia Smith, Sam Hin­ton and Pam Pearce.

Just Do It ju­nior so­cial ten­nis was a high-oc­tane . event with the ‘Barker’ twins, their father and Jett Bleine busy out on the court.
