TENNIS: Fit fun tennis, the upbeat gym workout on a tennis court, was at its best with plenty of talent shining.
On Thursday evening Ethan Leet, Nathan Ryan and Rhianna Loten stole the show. On Friday morning Lesley Nolan and Liz Knight set a sizzling pace.
Tuesday afternoon social tennis had two courts in action.
Kay Hoar and Trish Rouse played a flowing game of doubles against John West and Merle Foot.
On the adjacent court Rex Robinson and Maurice Kite issued the challenge to Betty Wilson and Rae Miller. The ladies certainly gave the men a run for their money!
Tuesday early evening tennis ran a miniature ‘ Miami Tournament’. Winners of the evening were Darren Rusk and Emma Dinnie.
The sportsmanship award went to Jack Raiteri.
Tuesday night social tennis saw Norm Hold and Anna Nowicki play a deft game of doubles against Harry Dilges and Tad Nowicki. Wednesday warriors were put to the test and winners on the evening were Jenny Southern and Isaac Porter for a fabulous display of doubles.
Thursday afternoon saw a family from London out on the court catching up for a game of tennis and a chat with friends from Townsville, proving that tennis really is a social game.
Andrew Gomez and Darren Rusk made the game of singles look easy with a blitzing set of tennis.
The Saturday morning earlybirds enjoyed the early morning cool to play a dashing game of doubles.
Out enjoying their tennis and friendship were Kate Applegate, Celia Smith, Sam Hinton and Pam Pearce.
Just Do It junior social tennis was a high-octane . event with the ‘Barker’ twins, their father and Jett Bleine busy out on the court.
