Bridge club back in ac­tion

BRIDGE: The Air­lie Beach Bridge Club has seen a shake up for the com­ing year, hold­ing their an­nual general meet­ing on Wed­nes­day, March 16.

Mem­bers voted for their 2016 com­mit­tee, with Dale Hell to serve as pres­i­dent, Linda Pri­day named vi­cepres­i­dent, Eric Bot­tle tak­ing on the sec­re­tary role as well as mas­ter points sec­re­tary, Neil Cawthorne sit­ting in the trea­surer’s seat, and Narelle Cawthorne tak­ing over the prove­dore po­si­tion.

The club also voted Brian O’Rourke as their pa­tron, hon­our­ing all his ef­forts in pro­vid­ing a premise, tables and more for the club’s use.

Any­one in­ter­ested in learn­ing to play bridge, or want­ing to start back up is wel­come.

Meet­ings are held on Tues­day from 6.30pm and on Fri­day from 9.30am.

The next big event for the club will see Bowen head south to take on our lo­cal bridge play­ers.
