TWO Mackay men appeared in the Proserpine Magistrates Court yesterday facing torture, assault, drugs and weapons charges.
Police alleged about 4.30pm Tuesday, the pair forced their way into a unit on Shute Harbour Rd in Cannonvale and assaulted a male resident.
Police will further allege the men tied up the resident before assaulting him further.
The men were allegedly interrupted when two police officers, who were in the area on an unrelated matter, heard the incident taking place and entered the unit, taking two men into custody.
A 36-year-old man was transported to Proserpine Hospital for treatment of cuts to his head, feet and hands.
Simon Daniel Walker, 27, and Carl Stephen Smith, 25, were both remanded in custody, to reappear in the Proserpine Magistrates Court on Monday.
No bail applications were made.
