WHIT­SUN­DAY GOLF: Sun­day had 32 Whit­sun­day golfers take part in the Mark Ni­col Me­mo­rial Tro­phy two ball am­brose.

The com­pe­ti­tion is played in mem­ory of the lo­cal mu­si­cian and avid Cow­boys fan.

As if to hon­our him fur­ther, the Cow­boys claimed the win on the week­end.

Win­ners on the day were Ian Giles and Kym Hill with a net score of 62.25.

Com­ing in a close sec­ond were Robyn Mills and Mick Ca­ton, card­ing net 64.5.

Round­ing out the podium were Mal Carter and Danny York (net 66).

Ross Richards recorded the long­est drive for the men’s A-grade, while the Bgrade hon­ours went to Ritchie Atkins.

The ladies 1-39 hand­i­cap saw Penny Wardroper hit it the far­thest, with Pauline Red­path claim­ing the 40+ hand­i­cap.

Third place-get­ters Mal Carter and Danny York took near­est the pins on the sec­ond and the 16th.

The ninth saw win­ners Ian Giles and Kym Hill claim the pins. Karen Rix and Don Cameron took out near­est the pins on the 13th.

Next Sun­day will see the Whit­sun­day golfers con­test a sin­gle stroke com­pe­ti­tion.

SUN­DAY SWING: Mick Ca­ton and Robyn Mills (2nd), Kym Hill and Ian Giles (1st), and Danny York and Mal Carter (3rd).
