After yet another crash...

How can the Gregory-Cannonvalley Rd turn-off be made safer?

Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY VIEWS -

Rhiannon Brunker, Mount Julian:

Reduce the speed limit and increase signage. It also needs a stop sign. I come past there almost every day. It’s just so dangerous.

David Wintour, Cannonvale:

A roundabout might help things.

Jennifer Iddles, Riordanvale:

Lower the speed limit to 80km. I used to own Crocodile Cafe and I had customers tell me they stopped coming because it’s life threatening turning across that road.

Helen Pike, Myrtle Creek:

A stop sign and lower the speed limit to 80km.

Wayne Fewings, Airlie Beach:

The dip (where the rail line crosses the road) – people slow down to avoid that. So that might be worth having a look at.

Gary Coote, Cannonvale:

I think people are a bit hesitant coming out of there, so dropping the speed limit to 70km might be a good idea. It would give people more time to think and accelerate.

Kieran McCarthy, Airlie Beach:

There is a right-hand turning lane, but dropping the speed limit there to 80km wouldn’t hurt.
