Drivers’ responsibility

Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY VIEWS -

I HAVE been trying to work out why there is a problem with the Shute Harbour and GregoryCannon Valley roads junction.

Why is it a “notorious junction”?

The approach roads are well marked, well surfaced, straight and flat.

The sight lines are as good, if not better, than any other junction in the area. So what’s the problem? Surely the problem must lie with some of the drivers who use the junction.

The bureaucratic solutions suggested by some of your readers.

Speed limits, roundabouts, traffic lights etc. are a waste of our scarce money.

The accidents are caused by the driver/s so the answer is simple.

If a driver cannot handle the junction, safely and confidently, they shouldn’t be driving. Geoff Smith Cannonvale
