Birth­day bash at women’s squash

This week in the Tues­day morn­ing women’s squash com­pe­ti­tion Team 3 took on Team 4 and Team 1 bat­tled it out with Team 2 at the Fitness Venue in Can­non­vale.

Lucy Pep­per (3/31) beat Ta­nia Skaife who played for Pauline Ogilvie (1/28) in a very close match.

Di O’Don­nell (3/27) made short work Aimee Mitchell (0/9) and Deb­bie Brown (3/28) eas­ily dis­patched Maranda Hard­ing (0/15).

Maranda also had to play for Jenny Mo­ranino but was beaten by Nicki Murray 3/27 – 0/5.

Round­ing out the last of the Team 4 and 3 match ups Julie Mitchell (3/30) de­feated Di Law (1/20) three games to one.

For team 1 Mar­ian Church­ward (3/27) made short work of Team 2’s Tiani Pauly (0/9) and Lyn Muller (3/27) made no mis­take in beat­ing Belinda Faust (0/4).

San­dra Wat­son (3/39) just de­feated Tanya Skaife in an awe­some match that went to five games. Well done Tanya for play­ing two matches.

In the last of the Team 1 and 2 fix­tures Alex Ogilvie-Knight (3/27) eas­ily beat Crys­tal Atkin­son (0/7) and Louise Cox (3/ 33) in an easy match over­came Ida Arici (1/13).

Next Week Team 2 take on Team 4 and Team 1 will be matched against Team 3.

The or­der of play will be: 1, 2, 3, 4 and then 5.Team 3 are on smoko next week and will be ex­pected to bring the good­ies for the Tues­day, May 3 fix­tures.

HAPPY BIRTH­DAY: Keen squash play­ers Joy Vi­tanza and Alex Ogilvie-Knight cel­e­brated their birthdays at the courts this week.
