Ugly Duck­ling golf day a hit

A good field of 88 mem­bers and vis­i­tors turned out for the an­nual Ugly Duck­lings day two-ball am­brose event on Satur­day.

In ideal con­di­tions and on a course in su­perb con­di­tion, win­ners on the day were Rob and Shel­ley Stan­ley on 59.75, ahead of run­ners-up Bob Slater and Gary Kaden with 60.5.

In the run­down were Rus­sel Rear­don and Greg Walker (65.5), Jill Farinelli and Mark Richards (65.75), Tony Sell­wood and Mick Bur­rows (66), An­drew Col­borne and Dean Barnard (66), Troy Dob­bins and Mick Ka­vanagh (66.5), and Michael Cragg and John Dodds (66.75).

Near­est the pins went to Gary and El­speth Scot­ford on No2, Peter Stone (9), Wendy Bradley (13), and Faye Elder (16).

The club would like to thank the spon­sors who, ev­ery year, come to­gether to do­nate won­der­ful prizes and make this an­nual event a great, fun day.

Thurs­day saw a good field of 58 men turn out for a stable­ford event, with the 18-hole Div.1 ti­tle go­ing to Gavin Ker­wand (42), beat­ing run­ner-up in this divi­sion, Wayne Temby (38), while the Div.2 ti­tle went to Peter Brown­ing who beat run­ner-up Robert Webb on count­back, both with 37.

In the count­down were Steven Ste­wart and Rus­sell Rear­don (37), John Grosskreutz and Ge­orge Gnezdiloff (36), Jim Cochrane (35), with Michael Ward, Dave Thomas and Con­rad Werner all card­ing 34s.

The nine-hole comp went to Steve Mitchell, beat­ing run­ner-up Mark Thomp­son and Rus­sell Rear­don on 21 pts.

Near­est the pins went to Pascal Ne­un­reuther on No.2, Peter Krause (9), Chris Weigand (13), and John Grosskreutz (16). Ladies’ golf

The ladies played a four-ball ag­gre­gate Stable­ford event on Wed­nes­day, with the win­ners be­ing Tr­ish McNeill and Ann Gardel on 62 points, ahead of run­ners-up Di Dob­bins and Mar­lene Gray (60), while in the run­down were Ann Gardel and Paula Wron­ski (60), and Tessa Aitken and Beryl Miller (55).

Di Dob­bins got NTP on No9, and Tr­ish McNeill won on 13.

Next Wed­nes­day the ladies will play the Pad­gett Ladies’ Day – Stroke and Putts, while on Satur­day will be the Paya Ladies stable­ford event.

The men will play a ver­sus par event on Thurs­day, while the Metropole Ho­tel monthly Stable­ford event will be held on Satur­day. Dawnies

Sun­day saw the Dawnies out early to play a four ball best ball com­pe­ti­tion on the front nine, the win­ners be­ing Clay Coles, Paul Davis, Mark Co­hen, and Nick Apruzzese. The run­ners up be­ing Travis Clinch, Al Clinch, Tony Spur­way and Larry Muller. The other end the Brad­man’s went to Ge­orge Steven­son Tom, Flem­ing, Bruce Upchurch and Mau­rie Moody.
