Twister and All Guns Blazing take series win in Marlin race

Whitsunday Times - - ON THE WATER -

THE Marlin Marine Series that was rescheduled after an earlier postponement ran at the weekend.

Insufficient entries saw a modification to the program, with Saturday’s race can- celled and Sunday’s race increased to three sprint races over a shorter course.

With two owners away and one boat out of the water, only a disappointing two boats fronted up from the usual Di- vision Two weekend fleet.

Wobbly Boot and Twister had a great tussle, with the lead changing virtually every tack. Wobbly Boot had the best of the battle on the water, being first over the line in two of the three races, with Twister not getting their act together with a scratch crew until the third race.

Unfortunately, Wobbly Boot was a victim of the Top Yacht computer system’s handicap change from race to race.

Twister managed a first place in races two and three, giving them the series win by one point.

The four boat Division Three fleet all had very close racing through the three races and the handicaps were very close across the fleet.

All Guns Blazing’s two line honours and a second gave them first in the series.
