Light winds for last June twilight

Whitsunday Times - - ON THE WATER -

THE final race of the Cumberland Charter Yachts June Twlight Series saw 16 boats compete in very light conditions. A dying sea breeze caused the race to be shortened after two laps. In Division One, Quick

skips, without skipper Pete Millar, took out the Doyle Sail best start. She then held the lead throughout to take the line honours and handicap first place for the trifecta.

Overdrive was second over the line and also on handicap and Aeolus completed the fleet for a third.

Division Two only had four starters, with owners away and boats being slipped.

Wobbly Boot was first over the start line, but was overtaken by light wind specialist,

QMS, who went on to take the line honours and handicap wins.

With the light winds not suiting the heavier Dehler

Magic and Twister, Wobbly Boot took second on handicap, with Dehler third and Twister fourth.

The light weight boats in Division Three, revelled in the conditions, leaving the heavier keel boats in their wake.

Fuzzy Logic had a blinder, taking out the best start, line honours and handicap treble.

Synchronicity was second over the line, with Kameruka third in the line and handicap honours. Sardine, Masquerade, Island Time and Anthea made up the finishing fleet numbers.
