Name calling

Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY VIEWS -

I FOUND it very disappointing that (George) Christensen, as one of his first public acts in his third term would “troll” a group that I believe was vigorously opposing his point of view.

I would think that in a democracy people should be able to express their point of view.

To be honest I have no idea who GetUp is or what they stand for. I suspect that if I looked into it I would like some of their points of view and some not, but come on George, shouldn’t I be hearing some humility and gratitude to the people of Dawson instead?

There was a 4.5% swing against the LNP in Dawson and my personal view is that was largely because of your disconnection with the electorate.

Decent tourism business owners along our shore are not “extreme greens” or “ratbag greenies.” They are business owners who were concerned about a multinational called Adani who will make a lot of money from Australian resources. After some advice from “up top” you admitted you were wrong, I’ll give you credit for that.

But if, as you say on your Facebook page (GetUp) should go back to Brisbane, how are they relevant Mr Christensen? If I was you I would be asking myself why there was a 4.5% swing against me rather than worrying about name calling. Andrew Jolley Conway
