Club launches beginner sailor winter courses
THE Whitsunday Sailing Club is taking expressions of interest for learn-to-sail courses for all age groups from nine to 90.
The club has a range of boats available for people to come and learn to sail or crew on a yacht or dinghy. ed on weekends or during the week, subject to dely 17. mand. Club instructors are affiliated with Australian Sailing, the peak body for the sport in Australia, and can offer everything a budding sailor needs to know.
The fleet includes single-sail Opti Tackers for chil-dren aged up to about 13. and laser dinghies, which are a versatile craft that can be rigged according to the skill level of the sailor, from 13-year-olds to adults. The club also plans to offer keel boats to learners, either to helm or crew. They are an option for anybody who wants to have a go.
