Airlie race 29 in a total of 52
WILL Palcy admits you have to be a bit “out there” to commit to 52 half marathons in 52 weeks.
“You have to be a bit crazy. At least for one year,” he said.
The former corporate office worker from France left his home country in a quest to tour the globe running and raising money for respiratory illness research.
“I want to serve a higher cause,” he said.
The Airlie Beach Running Festival half marathon event was number 29 for Palcy who will complete a total of seven races in Australia before leaving for Europe.
Palcy has run in Central America, USA, South East Asia, China, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and even New Zealand he told the Whit
sunday Times with a smile, describing the Airlie Beach leg of his odyssey as “challenging and interesting”.
“The people have been very generous, very into sport and very friendly,” he said.
“I have really enjoyed my time here.”
