ROLL UP, roll up! The Cannonvale State School fete is on its way and there’s loads of fun for all to enjoy.

President of the fete, Mandy Bennett said this year’s fete wouldn’t be short of fun, with a host of different rides, games and showbags.

“We have a great selection of rides this year and we have market stall holders coming too,” she said.

“We have super sensational food, pony rides, the aqua bus is coming and they’ll be throwing toys off the bus and the firies will be throwing lollies off their truck.”

This year, the fete will be held on Sunday, July 31, in the hopes that more children can attend than ever.

The fete has already had hands on fun for kids, with students entering a competition to have promotional posters plastered across the community.

“We ran a competition where kids had to colour in a blank poster and we chose the top three copies to be placed around the town,” Ms Bennett said.

Lawton Kelly, 6, Kate Bennett, 10, and Gemma Ross, 8, were the lucky three to have their posters on display.

Children will also have the chance to win ‘fete dollars’ when they enter the ‘My Teacher on a Plate’ competition where students must draw a teacher of their choice onto a paper plate.

To enter, children must donate a plate of cakes for the cake stall.

Councillor Jan Clifford and Mrs Merewyn Wright will be there on the day to judge.

Ms Bennett said all funds raised at the fete would go towards the music and arts department.

“We’re trying to achieve a permanent stage, speakers, instruments, it’s never ending,” she said.

“Being a public school, we only get so much funding so we have to work hard to achieve extra money.”

If anyone would like to donate raffle prizes contact the school on 4946 6690.
