Big weekend of bowls ahead
BOWLS: Proserpine Ladies Bowling Club
On Wednesday, a tremendous semi-final of Club Championship Pairs was played.
Fran Porter and Helen Muller went up against Lois Read and Joan McGrath in an exciting game.
Scores were level at four-all after six ends and again level at 15-all after 20 ends.
A count of three in the final end to Helen Muller’s team put them into the winning seat.
Fran and Helen played June Blair and Heather Brown, with results undecided at the time of going to press.
In Wednesday’s Social Bowls, Cathy Holmes, Lorraine Clissold (visitor), Dot Hinschen and Gary Elder (visitor) were defeated by Trudy Hanne, June Blair and Pepper Evans (visitor) 13–21.
Mary Hedgelong, Joy Jeffries, Lillian Harris and Max Clissold (visitor) bested Vicki Spann, Betty Evans, Gail Camm and Maree Daffara 2115.
At the time of going to press, there has been no notification from Sarina about weather and play.
The team is Helen Muller to play singles, Lois Read and Joan McGrath to play the pairs, and Vicki Spann, Heather Patullo, Maree Daffara and Heather Brown to play the fours.

Weather on the weekend meant that no social bowls were played.
A number of competition games are scheduled for this weekend.
On Saturday at 10am in the mixed singles Maree Daffara takes on Shane Spann, marker is Heather Brown.
Saturday at 1.30pm Philip Brown, Ross Reville and Kevin Thorogood will contest the Club Championship Triples against Jonathon Bye, Gavin Milne and Shane Spann.
Also at 1.30pm, Helen Muller will play Alan Pershouse, marker TBA, and Shane May will battle Dale Haack, marker Wayne Handley, in the mixed singles.
On Sunday at 1.30pm, the senior singles has Kevin Thorogood versus Barry Zillmann, marker Arthur Williams.
Meanwhile, the mixed pairs will have Wendy Pomeroy and Shane May take on Dale Haack and Maree Daffara, and Vicki Spann and Wayne Handley play Philip Brown and Heather Brown.
