Cupcakes to help cute and cuddlies
HAVE a sweet tooth?
Head down to PRDnationwide Whitsunday today to satisfy your cravings all while fundraising for a good cause.
As part of Cupcake Day for the RSPCA, PRD is selling freshly baked cupcakes every day for the next four weeks and anyone is welcome to come and have a taste.
Sales secretary Carinda Ivens was the first of her coworkers to do some baking and said it felt great to support such a good cause.
“We just wanted to get more involved in our local community,” she said.
“We decided this is a really great cause and it’s close to our hearts because we all have pets.”
Cupcake Day is an opportunity to raise funds for the abandoned, injured, neglected and sick animals who come to the RSPCA for care each year.
Although officially held on Monday, August 15 anyone can take part whenever they please throughout the month of August.
The real estate team will go by a ‘cupcake roster’ to determine whose turn it is to supply the tasty treats.
“We’re donating our time and money to buy ingredients and bake the cupcakes,” Ms Ivens explained.
Ms Ivens said they would be happy with any amount they raised but had a goal of at least $500 in mind.
“More would be awesome but we’re going to be realistic and aim for $500 at the moment,” she said.
Cupcakes are $3 each and all money raised will be donated directly to the RSPCA.
