She ex­plained that to cre­ate her art­works, she liked to take pho­tos of a sub­ject and then add other sub­ject mat­ter to cre­ate a story.

“I think, as artists, we have an op­por­tu­nity to get a mes­sage out through our paint­ings,” she said.

“I’m fo­cus­ing on the en­vi­ron­ment with a sub­tle mes- sage of pro­tect­ing it.

Jacquie has been a mem­ber of Art Whit­sun­day for the past four years and looks for­ward to dis­play­ing her new art­works in the Art Whit­sun­day an­nual exhibition from Au­gust 5-7 at the Whit­sun­day Arts and Cul­tural Cen­tre (WACC).
