ONE YEAR AGO...
EYES were turning skyward this time last year, with the Airlie Beach Air Show bringing some of the best aerobatic pilots to town.
These death-defying high flyers bent the laws of physics and brought smiles to many local faces.
Hosted by Whitsunday Airport, the 2015 event was welcomed back after a four year gap.
Over two big days, the air show saw craft such as the Wolf Pitts, Wirrway and T-28 Trojan take to the skies.
A stand out proved to be the RAAF Roulettes, putting on an incredible aerobatic display in their iconic red planes.
It wasn’t all about visiting talent however, with locals the then Whitsunday Tigermoth Adventures wowing the crowds.
Cruisin’ Whitsunday added to the entertainment, letting locals get a first-hand look at their classic rides.
