Staff threat­ened

IN­TIM­I­DAT­ING com­ments have been di­rected at coun­cil staff on so­cial me­dia. The com­ments are re­lated to the coun­cil un­der­go­ing yard in­spec­tions to en­sure pets are reg­is­tered. Se­nior Sergeant Nathan Blain said spe­cific com­ments in­volv­ing a shot gun were dis­gust­ing and would not be tol­er­ated. Po­lice will as­sist coun­cil work­ers to carry out their job if nec­es­sary.

Drink driv­ing

A 33-YEAR-OLD Glen Isla man driv­ing a Nis­san Mi­cra hatch­back crashed into a power pole on Shute Har­bour Rd caus­ing sig­nif­i­cant dam­age. The man al­legedly blew a blood al­co­hol read­ing of 0.169. The in­ci­dent oc­curred on Septem­ber 30 be­tween mid­night and 12.30am. The man will ap­pear in Proser­pine Mag­is­trates Court. There were five cases of drink driv­ing over the past week, with a tourist record­ing a read­ing of 0.21.

Prop­erty dam­age

WIL­FUL dam­age was caused to a mo­tor ve­hi­cle parked in main street. A 20-year-old man from the Gold Coast picked up a brick and smashed the car win­dow. The in­ci­dent oc­curred on Oc­to­ber 2 be­tween 8.30-9.15pm

Court date

A MAN will ap­pear at Proser­pine Mag­is­trates Court af­ter breach­ing a do­mes­tic vi­o­lence or­der and ob­struct­ing po­lice. When po­lice ap­proached the man he be­came vi­o­lent. He is also un­der­stood to have stolen prop­erty from the ag­grieved. The dis­tur­bance oc­curred at Air­lie Beach main street on Oc­to­ber 3 at 1.20am.

Po­lice sta­tion

HAMIL­TON Is­land will un­veil a new satel­lite po­lice sta­tion next Mon­day. More de­tails will be re­leased later in the week.
