New services a win for tourism

Whitsunday Times - - NEWS -

FLIGHTS to Brisbane have just been made a lot easier.

Tigerair Australia announced a new partnership with the Whitsunday Coast Airport which will deliver four weekly return services between the Whitsundays and Brisbane starting from March 2017.

Two extra services will also be added to the Whitsunday Coast-Sydney route to now deliver six weekly return flights.

Tigerair Australia Commercial Director Adam Rowe said consumer demand played a deciding role in driving the decision.

Mayor Andrew Willcox said substantial economic benefits would flow from the important development.

“That is real bums in beds and real money being spent in local businesses,” he said.

The Gold Coast, Melbourne, Cairns and Perth are on the wish list of our readers who took to Facebook to share which flight routes should come next.

One-way fares from Whitsunday to Brisbane will be available from $49 for customers considering travelling dates March 23-30 and April 20-June 22.

Fares will regularly be available from the Whitsundays to Brisbane for $79.
