Lazy ways to clean a house

Whitsunday Times - - REAL ESTATE -

IT’S spring cleaning season, but it also happens to be the time when new TV shows are released on popular streaming services.

You definitely want to make your house as liveable as possible, but you might also just want to sit down and binge on HBO.

Here are tips to have the best of both worlds.

1. Clean everything in the dish washer

Dishwashers are not just for dishes. Household items that can go in your dishwasher include; kitchen sponges, cabinet knobs, toys, plastic light switch plates, nail clippers, soap dishes, kitchen caddies, toothbrush holders, desk tidies, silicon oven mitts and trays.

2. Set a timer

No matter how much you get done, you can always clean more. The best way to combat this is to set a timer for 20 minutes and do as much as you can. This not only limits the amount of time you spend cleaning, but it also makes you more productive in your cleaning.

3. Distract yourself

Try cleaning with headphones on while you listen to music or a podcast.

4. Find a place for everything

This requires preparation, but if you have a place for everything you can see what’s missing in one glance.
