Drugs fund­ing

THE Fed­eral Gov­ern­ment has of­fered sub­sidised ac­cess to drugs in time for Ovar­ian Can­cer Aware­ness Month. From Fe­bru­ary 1, peo­ple have had ac­cess to Ola­parib (Lyn­parza) for $6.30 for con­ces­sional pa­tients and $38.80 for gen­eral pa­tients. The drug is used to treat high grade ovar­ian, fal­lop­ian and peri­toneal can­cer. Pa­tients will also have sub­sidised ac­cess to Cer­i­tinib which is used to treat non-small cell lung can­cer.
