TAK­ING a trip down me­mory lane we are re­minded of the tragic bus crash which claimed the life of Casey Stinson. A friend of Casey, Matthew Ed­wards, who was also in the crash, spoke of how it felt to wake up to the news of his friend’s death.

It was time for the Whit­sun­day peo­ple to make their de­ci­sion on who they wanted to see rise above in the coun­cil elec­tion. The re­gion headed to the polls the same week to de­cide who would be­come the new coun­cil­lors of the lo­cal gov­ern­ment. Whit­sun­days Mar­ket­ing and De­vel­op­ment Lim­ited was voted on by mem­bers to split into two sep­a­rate or­gan­i­sa­tions – Tourism Whit­sun­days and En­ter­prise Whit­sun­days.

Plans were pro­posed to pro­tect Lin­de­man Is­land’s na­tional park sta­tus. And our Wild Ones hit the big screen as part of a doc­u­men­tary.
