SE­NIOR School at Proser­pine State High School pre­pares stu­dents to com­plete their school­ing with the knowl­edge, un­der­stand­ing and skills for suc­cess­ful life­long learn­ing.

The se­nior school cur­ricu­lum pro­gram has been de­vel­oped to con­sider our stu­dents’ fu­ture goals by pro­vid­ing nu­mer­ous al­ter­na­tive path­ways, meet­ing the var­i­ous needs of stu­dents wish­ing to ac­cess the full va­ri­ety of op­por­tu­ni­ties in ter­tiary study and the workplace.

With over 40 sub­ject of­fer­ings, taught by a spe­cial­ist teach­ing team com­mit­ted to teach­ing ex­cel­lence, the school of­fers di­verse op­por­tu­ni­ties.

Vo­ca­tional ed­u­ca­tion and train­ing cer­tifi­cates, school and com­mu­nity part­ner­ship pro­grams, as well as school-based trainee­ships and ap­pren­tice­ships add to the ex­ten­sive and ex­cit­ing of­fer­ings avail­able to stu­dents.

Sport­ing and cul­tural ac­tiv­i­ties, in­ter­na­tional ex­pe­ri­ences, lead­er­ship and com­mu­nity re­spon­si­bil­i­ties are strongly en­cour­aged and a di­verse range of ex­tra cur­ric­ula ac­tiv­i­ties keep stu­dents en­gaged, mo­ti­vated and chal­lenged.

The school places great em­pha­sis on the pro­vi­sion of safe, sup­port­ive and re­spect­ful learn­ing en­vi­ron­ments and the school recog­nises that stu­dent re­silience and well-be­ing are es­sen­tial for both aca­demic and so­cial de­vel­op­ment.

It of­fers a team of ded­i­cated staff to as­sist stu­dents with ca­reer guid­ance and to de­velop ca­pa­bil­i­ties which pro­mote health and well-be­ing and lead to suc­cess in life.
