This has been a tragic event but it also presents a massive opportunity.
OVER the last few weeks, many, if not most businesses have gotten themselves back online in the Whitsundays.
Those in the building trades are frantic and barely able to cope with the work load, whilst other businesses are struggling to make ends meet or to simply come to grips with the impact TC Debbie has had on their premises and trade.
One thing is certain, these are challenging times for everyone in the region.
The Whitsunday and Proserpine Chambers of Commerce, in conjunction with the Whitsunday Regional Council are holding a business industry forum.
To be held at The Proserpine Entertainment Centre tonight at 5.30pm – there will be representatives from the Banking and Finance Centre, State Government Department of Regional Development, Whitsunday Regional Council, Fair Work Australia, the Australian Tax Office and the focus will be getting back on track and coping with the pressures being experienced.
This has been a tragic event but it also presents a massive opportunity. Governments at all levels have pledged their support and understand what a crucial region this is to the economy and tourism.
Don’t miss out. Please take the time to attend the forum and see how you can get assistance and support to grow your business and help get the Whitsundays back on track. Reconnect with your peers and let’s put Debbie in the past and work together towards a prosperous future.
Recent feedback from locals, visitors on cruise ships, domestic visitors and utility workers from outside the region reinforces what a wonderful community and region we live in and what a fantastic job everyone has done to clean up and get back on their feet. Let’s capitalise on this adversity and make the business community one of which we can all be proud.
