Air­lie bowls back with Easter spirit

BOWLS: The last two weeks has been a huge dis­rup­tion to the Air­lie Beach Bowls Club sea­son with their first game held last Wed­nes­day.

“The BOM trusts that ev­ery­one sur­vived with as little dam­age as pos­si­ble and we look for­ward to see­ing you all back on the green as soon as pos­si­ble,” ladies pres­i­dent Margo Stan­ley said.

Last Wed­nes­day a small group played a game of Triples and one game of Pairs. Win­ners for the day were Bob Spees, David Stock and Tony White­horn de­feat­ing Bob Spees, Paul Os­borne and Betty Ni­colle 37-7. The pairs game saw Rick Galea and Nik Fern­bach de­feat Graeme Herd and Rick Brunell 25-10.

On Good Fri­day the club hosted a so­cial group lead by Jack Lumby.

Satur­day morn­ing Scroungers was on last week with Margo Stan­ley de­feat­ing Betty Ni­colle 14-10.

Easter Sun­day was short on num­bers but still a fun day. Win­ners for the day were Lyn Boxer and Margo Stan­ley de­feat­ing Jill Spencer and Betty Ni­colle.

Fri­day night Bare­foot Bowls and Busi­ness House bowls will get un­der­way when the lights over the green are re­paired.
