Airlie bowls back with Easter spirit
BOWLS: The last two weeks has been a huge disruption to the Airlie Beach Bowls Club season with their first game held last Wednesday.
“The BOM trusts that everyone survived with as little damage as possible and we look forward to seeing you all back on the green as soon as possible,” ladies president Margo Stanley said.
Last Wednesday a small group played a game of Triples and one game of Pairs. Winners for the day were Bob Spees, David Stock and Tony Whitehorn defeating Bob Spees, Paul Osborne and Betty Nicolle 37-7. The pairs game saw Rick Galea and Nik Fernbach defeat Graeme Herd and Rick Brunell 25-10.
On Good Friday the club hosted a social group lead by Jack Lumby.
Saturday morning Scroungers was on last week with Margo Stanley defeating Betty Nicolle 14-10.
Easter Sunday was short on numbers but still a fun day. Winners for the day were Lyn Boxer and Margo Stanley defeating Jill Spencer and Betty Nicolle.
Friday night Barefoot Bowls and Business House bowls will get underway when the lights over the green are repaired.
