Proserpine men claim sixth in Qld

The juniors played on Sunday afternoon, owing to the front nine holes only being open.
The three hole competition was won by Logan Burke with a gross 32.
The six hole gross winner was Finn Burke, 46, and runner-up was Daniel Spurway on 56. Net winner was Zane Williams with 18, and runner-up was Blake Lovelock, 32.
Liam Eames took out the nine hole gross, 67, from Jack Valmadre 76. Net winner was Rian Mitchell with 33 from Harper Henderson-Feldman on 44. BOWLS: It’s been a big week for the Proserpine Bowls Club, with a men’s team competing in the men’s district side last week, finishing sixth in Queensland overall.
On Wednesday afternoon 15 ladies played a round of social games.
Two games were played, with Lois Read’s team defeating Heather Patullo’s 24–5 in a fours game and Wendy Pomeroy and John Lahney defeating Peter Lawton and Fran Porter 36–7 in a mixed pairs game.
The ladies’ competition on Wednesday, May 10, is set to have Wendy Pomeroy play Carly Albertson (marker Barbara Dammash) and Joan McGrath playing Heather Brown (marker Dot Hinschen) in Ch/Ch singles.
Ten bowlers played Sunday afternoon social bowls, with the afternoon enjoyed by all those playing.
The Proserpine Bowls Club Mixed Carnival will be held on Saturday, May 13, with 56-plus players competing.
