15 charges, 20 years old
A 20-YEAR-OLD Bowen man facing 15 criminal charges in Proserpine Magistrates Court on Monday has been placed on probation.
Appearing via video link from inside prison, the man pleaded guilty to all charges, including multiple domestic violence breaches, stealing and wilful damage.
In August 2016 he broke his domestic violence order multiple times in Emerald.
After being arrested and released on bail following one of the incidents he said he would “have a party in celebration of her funeral”.
He also stole a television and bicycle and failed to appear in court a number of times. He threatened to kill police and on July 7, 2016 at 12.30am, when police conducted a check at the watch-house after he had been arrested, they saw he had placed a large amount of faeces on the floor and against the cell door.
On February 12 in Bowen he was pulled over on a moped about 6.05pm and police discovered he had never held a licence.
Magistrate Simon Young described some of the acts as “disgusting” but also noted the man seemed to have a problem with alcohol.
Having spent 93 days in custody, he was placed on a 12-month probation order, disqualified from driving for three months and fined $400.
