Per­fect con­di­tions at Air­lie parkrun

RUN­NING: A cool, cloudy start gave Air­lie Beach parkrun the per­fect run­ning con­di­tions on Satur­day morn­ing.

Or­gan­is­ers said it was pleas­ing to also see the more ex­pe­ri­enced run­ners en­cour­ag­ing and pacing our young­sters to achieve new PBs and a huge thanks to all the vol­un­teers, par­tic­u­larly in­ter­na­tional vol­un­teers.

This week 65 peo­ple ran, with four first timers and 18 recorded new per­sonal bests. Rep­re­sen­ta­tives of two dif­fer­ent clubs took part and the event was made pos­si­ble with seven vol­un­teers.

Peter Moore of Whit­sun­day Run­ning Club, was first over the line in 18:50 in front of Justin Helsham who was sec­ond over the line in 19:24 and Tim Oberg of Whit­sun­day Run­ning Club was third over the line in 20:21.

Gabriella Marsh was first over the line for the ladies in in 23:01.

Troy Wake was sec­ond over the line in 23:38 and Teodora Dale was third over the line in 23:42.

The three high­est age grades were recorded by Peter Moore 78.94% for the time 18:50, Sylvie Martin 77.17% for the time 27:05 and Wendy Downes74.46% for the time 31:27.
