Perfect conditions at Airlie parkrun
RUNNING: A cool, cloudy start gave Airlie Beach parkrun the perfect running conditions on Saturday morning.
Organisers said it was pleasing to also see the more experienced runners encouraging and pacing our youngsters to achieve new PBs and a huge thanks to all the volunteers, particularly international volunteers.
This week 65 people ran, with four first timers and 18 recorded new personal bests. Representatives of two different clubs took part and the event was made possible with seven volunteers.
Peter Moore of Whitsunday Running Club, was first over the line in 18:50 in front of Justin Helsham who was second over the line in 19:24 and Tim Oberg of Whitsunday Running Club was third over the line in 20:21.
Gabriella Marsh was first over the line for the ladies in in 23:01.
Troy Wake was second over the line in 23:38 and Teodora Dale was third over the line in 23:42.
The three highest age grades were recorded by Peter Moore 78.94% for the time 18:50, Sylvie Martin 77.17% for the time 27:05 and Wendy Downes74.46% for the time 31:27.
