COUNTRY RACING AT IT’S VERY BEST
Bowen Turf Club’s 2017 Whitsunday Cup Race Day is shaping up to be one of its biggest yet.
With a full complement of local sponsors and nominations expected from all of North Queensland and further afield, the club is looking forward to having the community trackside after completing cyclone repairs.
While the club’s April race day, scheduled a week after TC Debbie, was cancelled due to damage to the track and buildings, club President Stephen Daley is confident continuing repairs will ensure the facility is back on track – and better than ever. The club hopes to obtain a replacement race day later in 2017.
Along with the upcoming June race day, Bowen Turf Club will also host the Ben Bolt Cup on August 5 – a fantastic race day celebrating the iconic Bowen race-horse – Ben Bolt, and incorporating other events such as crab racing, melon and tomato races and more on the day.
September 30 sees the return of the famous Bowen Cup for 2017. Known as the race that stops the Whitsundays, the 2017 event is expected to be huge, with marquee bookings already filling up. Bowen Cup also includes the Fashion Event of the Year – LUXE Fashion House Fashions on the Field, with a range of categories and amazing prizes.
Marquee bookings are still available for all three races – whether it be for your family celebration, sporting group or corporate function.
Bowen Turf Club is a great venue, offering an authentic country racing experience.
