Airlie Bowls Club busy with Pennants matches
BOWLS: Airlie Beach Bowls Club played Pennants matches on Saturday and Sunday with mixed results.
In Division 2 they lost on Saturday to Seaforth Bowling Club but managed to come back for the win on Sunday against Pioneer Valley Bowls Club.
In Division 6, Airlie Beach were beaten by Sarina on Saturday, but beat North Mackay on Sunday.
The club also hosted the International Legends of League on Friday with many in attendance.
Club members said it was a successful day for the club and everyone enjoyed it.
Pennants matches will continue through to July 8.
Matches will resume this weekend at Airlie Beach Bowls Club.
On Saturday, Airlie Beach will play Mackay City in Division 2.
Also in Division 6, Airlie Beach will play Mackay.
On Sunday, they will play Marion Bowls Club in Division 2 and and Souths Suburban Bowls club in Division 6.
Despite suffering some damage during Cyclone Debbie, the club is running regular games.
Ladies’ bowls is held on Tuesdays and men’s on Wednesdays.
The club also has barefoot balls every Friday night from 6.30pm. Interested players can contact the club on 4946 7656.
It costs $15 and there is a barbecue on the night.
