Air­lie Bowls Club busy with Pen­nants matches

BOWLS: Air­lie Beach Bowls Club played Pen­nants matches on Satur­day and Sun­day with mixed re­sults.

In Divi­sion 2 they lost on Satur­day to Seaforth Bowl­ing Club but man­aged to come back for the win on Sun­day against Pioneer Val­ley Bowls Club.

In Divi­sion 6, Air­lie Beach were beaten by Sa­rina on Satur­day, but beat North Mackay on Sun­day.

The club also hosted the In­ter­na­tional Leg­ends of League on Fri­day with many in at­ten­dance.

Club mem­bers said it was a suc­cess­ful day for the club and ev­ery­one en­joyed it.

Pen­nants matches will con­tinue through to July 8.

Matches will re­sume this week­end at Air­lie Beach Bowls Club.

On Satur­day, Air­lie Beach will play Mackay City in Divi­sion 2.

Also in Divi­sion 6, Air­lie Beach will play Mackay.

On Sun­day, they will play Mar­ion Bowls Club in Divi­sion 2 and and Souths Sub­ur­ban Bowls club in Divi­sion 6.

De­spite suf­fer­ing some dam­age dur­ing Cy­clone Deb­bie, the club is run­ning reg­u­lar games.

Ladies’ bowls is held on Tues­days and men’s on Wed­nes­days.

The club also has bare­foot balls every Fri­day night from 6.30pm. In­ter­ested play­ers can con­tact the club on 4946 7656.

It costs $15 and there is a bar­be­cue on the night.
