More jobs in solar than coal

Whitsunday Times - - YOUR SAY -

THE only justification for cooking the climate that deniers can give is jobs.

Both conservative and Labor politicians still keep boringly insisting that the Adani project will employ tens of thousands.

This is despite the fact that Adani’s very own expert admitted in court that only 1464 direct and indirect jobs would be created during the

life of the project.

Bill Hare; director of Climatic Analytics referring to the U.S was quoted as pronouncing that “The increase in employment in solar energy alone over the past three years is more than twice the total number of jobs in the coalmining industry in the United States.”

We live in the Sunshine State.

Imagine what jobs would be created in North Queensland if that one billion dollars were used to support renewables.

At the same time the electricity produced would be cheaper .... oh yes and we wouldn’t cook the planet.
